Hard Words - Offensive, abusive, threatening, or emotionally charged words that are uncomfortable to hear, difficult to render
Hard Calls - Professional decisions interpreters must make under pressure:
how to render tone, intensity, and pragmatic force faithfully,
how to remain neutral without sanitizing language,
how to respect legal boundaries when language itself becomes evidence
