Membership 

As a non-profit professional association, the Association of Can Professional Chinese Interpreters & Translators APCITG provides many professional services to protect the interests of its members as well as the interests of its clients

Applicants must have one of the following training and or accreditation in order to be eligible for membership:

  • Members must have completed a 40-hour interpreter’s Code of Ethics & Standards of Practice training and must have achieved the certificate.

  • Members must have successfully passed the official certificate examination for language proficiency on source language and target language for which they intend to provide interpretation. Both ILSAT and CILISAT are acceptable.

  • Interpreters accredited by the Ministry of Attorney General and/or the Immigration and Refugee Board.

  • Interpreters graduated with Master Conference Interpreting from Canadian Universities.
